The purpose of the English Opening (Part II)
Let's say you are White and a 1.d4 player
But your opponent specializes in the Queen’s Gambit Declined
It may better to play the English Opening instead...
Since you may be able to transposition the opening....
Into a situation where you gain a huge advantage
To do this... instead of starting the game with 1.d4 start with 1.c4
And if Black puts his Knight here...
You put your knight here to support the e4 square
When Black plays the second move of the Queen’s Gambit Declined...
Now we place our King pawn here!
Now if Black plays the next Queen’s Gambit Declined move
We just put our pawn here...
And this move puts your opponent in a very uncomfortable situation
