There are a few variations of the King’s Gambit
If Black takes the pawn
This is the King’s Gambit Accepted
If Black doesn’t take the pawn
And does ANYTHING else
Like move the Bishop
Or counter attack in the center
That is the King’s Gambit Declined
If Black accepts White’s gambit
White has two responses….
To either move his Knight
Or move his Bishop
(Bishops Variation)
If White decides to move his Knight
Black has two responses to this
The first is to protect this pawn
This is known as the Classical Variation
If Black responds by moving this pawn instead...
We get the Fischer Defense
